Wanna see my talent...?

So, in the spirit of actually keeping you up to date as to what is happening around these parts, I think you should know I went and saw the Traveling Talent Show Tour (featuring The White Tie Affair). It was AMAZING. I actually went to see Every Avenue (if you didn't know I was a fan-girl, you haven't been paying a darn bit of attention), but all of the other bands were fantastic, as well. And I got to meet TWTA, they were really cool as well. Also, I got 4 guitar picks, a setlist, and loads of hugs and pity (I had been awake since 4 am).

Anyway, the point is it was really fun. I just thought you'd like to know.

Oh, and there was no crowdsurfing.

Dear Reader...

I've had the best summer ever! I went to about a million shows, including the Warped Tour, and the What Happens in Vegas Tour, and the Shh... It Happens Tour, and a bunch more that I can't remember right now. I met a bunch of awesome people, and collected loads of swag, but it seems I've been a touch derelict in my blogging duty. So, now that fall is upon us, its time to break out the hoodies and orphan gloves and huddle by the fireside Bob Cratchit style, and its time to get back to the keyboard for me. So, as an apology for the time together that we lost, I'll leave you with a few pictures from my summer (did I mention that I FINALLY bought a camera before Warped? How cool is that!?).
That's the lead singer of Every Avenue at Warped. That picture isn't zoomed in, he actually kicked me in the face on his way out of the crowd! It was epic.

That guy is in Breathe Carolina. I'm not a huge fan of the band, but he did some of the best crowd surfing of the whole Warped Tour.Nate from fun. kindly requests that you talk to the hand. They're album is really awesome. You should get it and then see them in concert, because they're really awesome, too.

I took about 70 pictures at the AP Fall Ball. This was the only one I liked. It was still fun, though. (That's William Beckett, of The Academy Is... by the way.

So, this week Panic at the Disco split up and The Matches went on hiatus.

I feel some serious emo coming on.

Kieren Smith is officially my hero...

From his Blog.

Yeah, so I know I should probably completely disagree with what he wrote, seeing as I am, to be honest, a bit of a gossip whore (tell me you didn't notice). But let's face it, music is supposed to be about the music. If you want to be someone's fan just to say you are, go stalk Paris Hilton.

Also, you (not the Paris Hilton stalking you, the still reading this blog you) should go download the new EP by You, Me, and Everyone We Know. Its awesome. And you know I don't use that term loosely (well, I do, but I really mean it this time).

And there are going to be five fantastic shows in town the week of the 10th. I'm hoping to see 4 of them (there are two that overlap, but I have my priorities (and they involve Cobra Starship)). Best. Weekend. Ever.

Dear Brittney Spears...

Lip syncing while dancing in a cage and wearing a skimpy ringleader costume does not make you a musician. It makes you a stripper. Just thought you'd like to know.

To everybody else: Fall Out Boy finally released their own version of Oregon Trail (I know, I make it sound like I've been waiting years for it). You should play it. Its pretty fun.

And Jack's Mannequin scheduled a concert date in my town. I did a little (okay, fine, it was a fairly big) dance. You should be disappointed that you weren't there to see it.

Your Smile Reminds Me of Switchblades and Infidelity

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!

Now, it is safe to say that even if you don't know much about me at this point, you have probably realized that I'm not romantic. At all. And if you didn't already know that, the title of this post probably tipped you off (its an old Fall Out Boy lyric, in case you were wondering). Therefore, it is time to celebrate a much-loathed holiday, and the best way to do that it with a playlist. So, here goes:

1. Inches and Failing by The Format
2. Drunk Girl by Something Corporate
3. Never Wanted to Dance by Mindless Self Indulgence
4. Coin-Operated Boy by The Dresden Dolls
5. Lexington by Chiodos
6. Geronimo by Phantom Planet
7. Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh by Bright Eyes
8. Hush, Hush by The Spill Canvas
9. Cupid's Chokehold by The Gym Class Heroes
10. Backfire at the Disco by The Wombats
11. Spores by Say Anything
12. I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic at the Disco
13. The Barber's Unhappiness by The Matches
14. Sometime Around Midnight by The Airborne Toxic Event
15. Good Will Hunting by Myself by Ludo

Okay, so I know I usually put in links, but I'm lazy today. If you actually want to hear them, look them up yourself. I did, however, put them in a particular order (that probably only makes sense to me), so extra points if you can figure that out.

Boycott love, detox just to retox.
